About this property

Welcome to Camel's Hump Nordic Ski Area

Camel's Hump Nordic Ski Area is a ski resort located in Huntington, Vermont, offering a rustic and natural cross-country skiing experience. It is situated at 1125 Bert White Rd and is recognized for its extensive and varied trail network amid scenic surroundings. The resort receives a 4.6 rating based on 29 reviews, reflecting generally positive guest experiences.

The facilities at this ski area are basic but practical, with essentials such as restrooms, a restaurant, and paid parking available on site. Accessibility is considered, providing wheelchair-accessible entrances and restrooms. The area is family-friendly, welcoming children and even dogs on most trails, which adds to its appeal for visitors looking for an inclusive outdoor activity.

Ski conditions lean towards a backcountry feel, with trails that are sometimes steep and not always groomed daily, which appeals more to intermediate and advanced skiers rather than casual visitors. Guests have noted the natural beauty and layout of the trails, though some mention that wayfinding can be tricky and that warming facilities may be minimal.

Despite the limited infrastructure and a no-frills approach to grooming and snowmaking, the property is appreciated for its volunteer-run atmosphere and proximity to urban areas. Visitors seeking a peaceful, lightly developed outdoor skiing experience might find this location well-suited for their needs. The ski area can be contacted at +1 802-735-5490 for more information.

Amazing, groomed nordic appt, great views, $10 donation entry fee, dogs are allowed on most trails, pretty spread out so not usually too crowded.

We're so fortunate that the private landowners share such a beautiful place like this to ski so close to an urban center.

It's hard to find - Google maps doesn't have it quite right. Watch to your left and you'll see the parking area. I didn't go far - it's not really for casual skiers, there's a lot of up and down, often pretty steep, and the trails get worn slick. But it's all very pretty and probably excellent for more advanced skiers than me.

Beautiful trails and an impressive trail network. The “warming hut” at the parking lot was not warm, but otherwise had a delightful day. Lots of fun terrain. They do a great job of keeping the trails groomed and parking lot cleared.

cute little snow getaway. I don’t even ski, I just stood here in the parking lot for like 20 minutes and then left, I recommend

Very laid back volunteer run place. They don't groom every day. Makes for excellent back country-ish skiing without being too remote. When trails are groomed it is excellent too.

Note that this is bare bones skiing: no facilities, no snowmaking, etc. Just some of the most beautiful trails & landscape in Vermont!
